FREELANCE HORSE RIDING LESSONS AT YOUR YARD IN WEST SUSSEX, SURREY & HAMPSHIRE

45-minute session with 15-minute post-analysis | £50

Our private riding lessons at your yard are designed for adults and teenagers across West Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire who want practical progress on their own horse in familiar surroundings. Sessions take place at your yard, livery, or another safe location so your horse stays relaxed and you can address real issues in the environment where you normally ride and train. Lessons focus on building confidence, improving posture and balance, and developing clearer, kinder communication between horse and rider.

These are one-to-one sessions focusing on the whole partnership. You may be preparing for competition, returning to riding after a break, refining your position and balance, improving contact and straightness, or resolving behaviour or training challenges at home. Natasha teaches with a calm, clear approach that supports both horse and rider, emphasising why issues arise and how to change them.

Lessons run Monday to Saturday. Natasha is a fully insured, BHS‑accredited coach and holds a Chichester District Council licence. She travels throughout West Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire, including towns such as Chichester, Petersfield, and Guildford. Travel within a ten‑mile radius of Charlton, West Sussex, is included; a travel fee applies beyond this. A weight limit applies for the comfort and welfare of the horses.

Semi-private and small-group lessons are available for like-minded riders and horses of similar ability, subject to suitability and safe facilities.

PRIVATE LESSONS ON YOUR OWN HORSE
(FREELANCE COACHING)

Private riding lessons delivered at your yard allow you to train without the disruption of travel and help Natasha understand your horse’s routine and environment. Most sessions are private, giving time for explanation, repetition, and feedback. Group lessons can work well for like-minded riders when horses and abilities match.

Working at home can be the fastest way to improve because you address real challenges in the setting where they occur. Sessions build confidence, consistency, clearer aids, and a calmer rhythm so you and your horse progress without feeling rushed.

COACHING THAT FITS YOUR GOALS IN YOUR YARD

Coaching is built around your goals and your horse’s needs rather than a fixed template. Working in your usual environment makes it easier to create lasting change and to practice confidently between sessions.

Lessons can focus on competition preparation, position and balance, improving contact and straightness, rhythm and transitions, lateral work, or support for young horses and rehabilitation.

You receive calm, clear feedback and practical exercises so you leave with clear priorities and a plan to use in your everyday riding.

WHAT WE CAN WORK ON IN YOUR FREELANCE LESSONS

Freelance lessons target the biggest sticking points in your training: position and balance, confidence, consistency in contact, straightness, transitions, or clearer aids. If your horse’s behaviour changes at home, this format is ideal because Natasha can see the patterns and address them in context.

Riders often book sessions to improve basics, build confidence in open spaces, refine lateral work, improve canter quality, or prepare for competitions. For young horses, returning riders, or those rebuilding after a setback, lessons are paced to suit the partnership.

Where appropriate, sessions may include in‑hand work or a blend of mounted and unmounted training to help you understand how your timing and balance affect the horse.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING RIDING LESSONS

Some riders choose freelance coaching to feel calmer, more secure, and more consistent on their own horse. Confidence is a skill that grows through clarity, repetition, and a pace that suits both horse and rider.

Lessons focus on practical foundations that make riding safer and more predictable: steadier rhythm, clearer transitions, dependable brakes and steering, and an independent, balanced seat.

If you’re nervous in canter, tense in open spaces, or unsure in new situations, sessions are structured to reduce pressure while still creating meaningful progress. Because lessons happen at your yard, you practice in the environment where confidence matters most and leave with simple exercises and clear priorities to build trust between sessions.

RIDER BIOMECHANICS & EQUINE BEHAVIOUR COACHING

Natasha’s freelance lessons are informed by rider biomechanics and equine behaviour, helping you understand how small changes in posture, timing, and clarity can affect the horse’s balance and mindset. The aim is not to override the horse but to make the aids easier to understand and easier to respond to.

Sessions may include practical work on rider symmetry, stability through the core, independent hands, and clearer use of leg and seat. When the rider becomes more consistent, the horse often becomes straighter, softer, and more settled, because the signals are simpler and the body can move more freely.

Behaviour and training challenges are approached thoughtfully, with attention to what the horse is communicating and what the environment is contributing. This is especially effective at home, where patterns can be seen clearly and improvements can be applied immediately.

IMPROVE HOW YOUR HORSE MOVES AT HOME

Many training challenges show up most clearly at home, where routines, spaces, and habits are most established. By working in your usual environment, Natasha can help you improve the way your horse moves and responds in the situations you deal with every week.

Lessons support straighter movement, improved balance, clearer rhythm, and more consistent connection, built from practical basics that suit your horse. Working in your usual environment helps Natasha see patterns and address them in context, so lessons support straighter movement, improved balance, clearer rhythm, and more consistent connection.

As rider awareness improves, the horse’s way of going often improves too. When your position, timing, and clarity become more consistent, your horse can relax, understand the aids, and move with greater ease.
